Hi there, I’m Melody Rodriguez. I am a San Antonio native, wife, a boy mom and Christian. I started MC Photography as a small hobby, but I’m currently working on investing more into it because I love it so much. During the school year, I teach part-time as a college professor at Texas A&M University-San Antonio, my alumni. I’m took a break this spring because I just had my second baby boy in January (who knew we’d be enduring a global pandemic too).
I love Jesus very much and all my work is for His honor and glory (Colossians 3:23-24). I am very involved in my church as a worship leader, teacher, preacher, and administrator.
As a lifestyle photographer, I love to capture beautiful, unfiltered, raw moments between you and your family. Whether you’re just starting out with your newly engaged life-partner or if your babies have paws for feet or even if you have a large extended family like myself, I’d love to capture your family’s character, sense of humor, and favorite moments.
I am very family oriented. We get all 11 of us (pictured below) together at our favorite restaurant, Nichas Comida Mexicana, on the South Side of San Antonio. They think every time we go, it’s a party, but nope, it just my big family!
Light. The definition according to Google is light stimulates sight and makes things visible; to illuminate; to ignite or make something start burning. My hope is to help make the love of Jesus more visible and clear to those around me and ignite people with an interest to find Christ.
Photography is all about light, and I personally love natural light photography, especially sunset sessions. If the sun is out, I will be chasing the golden color and sun rays in my photos. To me, it’s just one physical example of God’s existence and goodness.
I pray that my work ethic, my images, and my life illuminate the love of Christ. Here lies the purpose of my work:
“Commit your way to the Lord; trust in Him, and He will act, making your righteousness shine like the dawn, your justice like the noonday.”Psalm 37:5-6
For this is what the Lord has commanded us: “I have made you a light for the Gentiles, that you may bring salvation to the ends of the earth.”Acts 13:47
I have been taking portraits since 2012, and over the last five years, I’ve grown exceedingly under the training and friendship of an amazing photographer, Michelle Jones Photography. I do shoot weddings but only with Michelle. She’s a fun, organized, experienced wedding photographer, who will capture your wedding day like no one I know, and she does so much behind the scenes that you will truly appreciate.
My background is in mass communications and journalism. I have led college newspaper staffs and reported for college and local news organizations in San Antonio, such as The San Antonio Express-News, the Prime Time Newspapers, The Mesquite at Texas A&M-San Antonio, and The Ranger at San Antonio College. I worked in digital marketing for three years while in graduate school at e-webstrategy, a local start up. I served as the content writing manager where I managed various clients’ social media, blogs, websites, and marketing content.
I’d love to meet you and see how I can capture your important moments!
